The Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 provides for the establishment of an independent electric energy market regulator

Plans to develop a new version of the electric energy law

The Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 provides for development of a new version of the Electric Energy Law to liberalize the energy sector and introduce electricity wholesale market rules

National dispatch center

In March 2022, the National Dispatch Center under the Ministry of Energy was established to perform the national and regional dispatching functions of the National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan and Regional Electric Networks

Green consumer loans

The Intersectoral Energy Saving Fund under the Ministry of Energy signed master agreements with some local banks, including “Ipoteka-Bank”, for the issuance of green consumer loans to the population to purchase energy-saving and renewable energy sources at the expense of the Fund

New energy tariffs

In June 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a subsequent Resolution No.348 approving new energy tariffs. However, in July 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a subsequent Resolution No.387 on the temporary suspension of entry into force of the aforementioned Resolution No. 348
